The No. 13 Auburn Tigers will take on the winner of the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Arkansas Razorbacks tomorrow afternoon.

What did Auburn forward Johni Broome have to say before Auburn begins tournament play?

Broome talked about the transfer portal and the positive impact that it had on his college career.

"Yeah, it's an awesome way to be able to go to a different environment, a different program and try to succeed, find one that fits you the best," Broome said. "And being on the good side of it, I came to Auburn, it was a great fit for me and it turned out pretty well. And then once I'm here we get guys like Chaney Johnson, Chad Baker, Denver Jones as a return player. I'm kind of helping with recruitment because the transfer portal allows me to not only get freshmen, but guys like those guys who I think will help us be better."

Broome talked about Auburn's depth and how that plays a factor late in the season.

"Second half, I feel like it helps, but I wouldn't say it matters too much where it matters the most," Broome said. "Like this, we got three games back to back to back Friday, Saturday, Sunday. So you play 35 minutes on Friday and Saturday you get that Sunday game when you're really tired. Rather if you know how we do it 26, 27, you got 15 extra minutes. So if you need to go a little extra one of those games, you can, or even the first game, if you need to go a little extra, you can because you don't have so many minutes on your body."

Broome talked about being pleased with his decision to return to Auburn.

"It feels good coming back," Broome said. "That was one of my goals to accomplish would be All-American and I was able to do that. So it, it feels good to know that my name will be in Auburn history."

Tipoff will happen after the Tennessee Volunteers play the winner of the LSU Tigers and Mississippi State Bulldogs. The television broadcast can be found on ESPN and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast can be streamed anywhere on the Auburn Athletics app.
