Michigan had one of the best college football seasons last year, winning 15-0 and winning the title. However, they now move to the 2024-2025 season with a new head coach, quarterback, and most of a new offense. However, one of the star players from last year’s team is heading back, and on Friday, some significant news dropped surrounding him.
In the 2013-2014 college football season, NCAA 14, the video game had Michigan’s quarterback, Denard Robinson, as the cover athlete. Like the NFL has the video game Madden, which you can play on consoles like PlayStation and Xbox, college football has the same thing. Still, the game went away after 2014 due to players not being able to be part of the game, and now, ten-plus years later, the game will be coming back this summer, and another Wolverine looks to have the honor of being front and center on the cover.
A photo of the deluxe version of the game was released on Friday. The player standing from in center is Michigan’s running back Donovan Edwards, who is standing alongside Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Colorado’s wide receiver/ cornerback Travis Hunter.
A bunch of players from other schools are also featured on the cover, but they are more in the distance, and Edwards seems to be the prominent athlete on this year’s cover.
Many fans took to social media to give their thoughts on the new cover athlete, and some didn’t seem happy.
