Kevin Harvick claims 'real deal' Corey Heim has put Toyota under pressure with his LMS stint
Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Corey Heim made his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Dover two weeks ago replacing Erik Jones at Legacy Motor Club. The No:43 Toyota Camry seat was vacant after Jones suffered serious injury due to his Talladega crash and was asked to sit on the sideline for a week. LMC decided to sideline him for two races to recover well, giving Heim his second start at Kansas.

The 21-year-old Corey Heim wasted not a single moment of his maiden Cup stint to waste. He secured top-25 finish in both the races and ran solid considering he was a rookie. According to ex-Cup champion, Kevin Harvick, with impressive runs Heim has put a lot of pressure on Legacy and Toyota to get him promoted soon.

I feel like we can’t leave the Corey Heim thing unaddressed because he had another good week where he ran all the laps. His finish does not reflect how he ran all day and I think it puts a lot of pressure on Legacy [and] Toyota because Corey Heim’s the real deal. And Silly Season is getting ready to get silly. Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour Podcast.

Corey Heim now will shift his focus to winning the Truck Series title that he lost last season after a chaotic season finale. He is currently the most consistent driver in the series. The No:11 Trico Garage Toyota’s worst finish from eight races so far in 2024 is a P10, showing how good he has been. He has already secured two wins, including one last week at Kansas.

Kevin Harvick highlights Erik Jones’ comeback this week at Darlington

The Np:43 TRD driver will make his come back after two impatient week this Sunday at Darlington. Harvick while talking about Jones’ comeback pointed out that being a two-time winner at the track, the ex-JGR star is someone to look up to on race day.

Let’s not leave Darlington without talking about Erik Jones. He sat out an extra week this week. He’s won there a couple times. Kevin Harvick said.

Jones will be determined to make a statement comeback by securing a solid finish. But he shouldn’t give himself too much stress on the comeback and should ease himself in. LMC is still in a developmental phase and veteran Jones’ comeback will help them to fast track the process again.
