NFL insider drops major draft warning that could ruin Browns’ draft plans
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

It is NFL Draft Day at last!

Though the Cleveland Browns do not have a pick tonight, the first round will surely have an impact on what they do at pick No. 54. Cleveland is paying the Houston Texans the final first-round pick in the Deshaun Watson trade.

One trend in the draft that could happen might have Cleveland looking around their board.

The current draft cycle is highly touted for the offensive line talent and wide receiver talent that is going to be available early. With teams moving up for tackles, we’re going to see possibly 10 offensive linemen have their names called on Thursday night.

JC Latham, Joe Alt, Taliese Fuaga, Olu Fashanu, Graham Barton, Amarius Mims, and Troy Fautanu all seem to be surefire locks for the first round. Additionally, Jordan Morgan, Tyler Guyon, and Kingsley Suamataia all have the potential to go in the first round. Cleveland has met with Suamataia but he would be someone they would likely have to trade up for.

With that being said, the Browns don’t pick until near the end of the second. Teams ahead of them are going to continue to take tackles if there is a need, and then we could see potential options at No. 54 like Kiran Amegadjie come off the board.

Cleveland may have to wait on an offensive tackle until later when the value makes sense. The Browns will have the option to trade up as well if they’d like to, but they only have six picks in this draft to work with.

The real thing is here and it won’t take long to see how the first round plays out. Cleveland won’t be making a pick tonight barring a major surprise.
