Roma coach Daniele De Rossi is in constant contact with Federico Chiesa as he works to convince the Juventus star to make the jump to the Italian capital this summer.

The 26-year-old winger has just over a year left on his contract in the Piedmont capital and would become an interesting transfer market opportunity should a new deal not be agreed ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chiesa has struggled to show his best under Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus this term, scoring just eight goals and providing three assists across 33 games, numbers that are clearly below his true level.

Chiesa situation

Page two of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Juventus have held numerous meetings with Chiesa’s agent Fali Ramadani in recent months, trying to find a way to extend his contract to June 2028, wanting to spread his amortization costs and his €5m salary across the next four years.

The Old Lady’s hope is to reduce the fixed part of his wages and increase the bonuses, but the winger is asking for a salary of at least €7-8m fixed plus add-ons, putting him on similar ground to Dusan Vlahovic.

In the meantime, De Rossi and a handful of his Roma players including Lorenzo Pellegrini, Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante are in close contact with Chiesa to try and convince him to push for a move to the capital this summer. The club need to qualify for the Champions League to pull off this deal.
