Eric Dier could be set to join former Tottenham and England teammate Harry Kane at Bayern Munich.
Center-back Dier has been a Spurs player since August 2014 and has made 365 appearances for the club.
But the 29-year-old has become an outcast under new manager Ange Postecoglou.
Concerned by his lack of pace, Postecoglou has repeatedly opted to play full-backs Ben Davies and Emerson Royal out of position instead of Dier this season, following injuries to key central defenders Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
Dier's contract with Tottenham is due to expire at the end of the season but he may be allowed to leave before then.
Bayern bosses are reportedly keen to sign a central defender during the current January transfer window.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sport in Germany, Dier and Bayern have already verbally agreed a deal in principle with a view to a possible transfer later this month.
However, Bayern are said to be assessing alternative options before formally moving for Dier, who has been capped 49 times at senior international level.
Dier's last England appearance came in a 3-0 win over Senegal at the FIFA World Cup in December 2022.
